My friend and I stayed at this hotel and had an amazing experience from start to finish. We are both females so we wanted to stay somewhere where we felt comfortable and most importantly safe.
The customer service was truly outstanding—every staff member was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. They paid attention to every detail and made us feel so welcomed.
What really stood out was how they made my birthday feel extra special. I was surprised with a thoughtful gift, which made the occasion even more memorable. It’s those little personal touches that make this place unique.
The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and has such charm. Every corner seems to have its own story, with a perfect balance of elegance and warmth. I can’t recommend this hotel enough and can’t wait to come back in April for another stay!

Hagia Sophia
In 537 AD, Hagia Sophia began life as a church, before becoming an Ottoman mosque in 1453. The largest cathedral in the world for almost a thousand years, this majestic building is considered one of the finest surviving examples of Byzantine architecture. Today, you can go inside and explore both the colossal structure as well as its museum.

The history is stunning and the main room is beautiful as well as the mosaics. However, I was underwhelmed considering they now charge to go in and you cannot go on the main floor (a result of it being turned into a mosque). Also the carpet choice doesn't help with the overall site. I think the other mosques were better.
Also, there are LONG queues to buy a ticket and then queues to go in. I would recommend going to the Hagia Sophia experience museum (across the Obelisk) and buy tickets there.

Insanely long lines deterred us, although you can take great shot elsewhere. Whether you are a man or woman, you need to cover up. Ladies with shawl, long sleeves, and down to ankles. Men with pants and at least a t-shirt (no tank tops). Otherwise, no entry.

Westerners are not allowed on the ground floor like the blue mosque. The mosque should be a place of multi religions as let's face it, it was a church first. All should be allowed everywhere as long as prayers are respected.

Hagia Sophia itself is impressive, I certainly wouldn't recommend the so-called "museum," which is ridiculously overpriced and basically just a long, ridiculous video in a bunch of different rooms, played at the volume of a rock concert. Go watch a documentary. You'll learn a lot more.

They turned this museum into a mosque under Erdogan.
They turned this museum into a mosque under Erdogan. It has been a museum for almost 100 years, but now it is a mosque and you are not allowed to go and explore the place inside, but are confined to a small space at the ground floor of the building. Very, very sad!!

I had a very short layover in Istanbul and had never been to the city. I was hoping for a good hotel near the historic center. The hotel not only met but exceeded this desire. I was able to use my limited time to walk around Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, and more.
The hotel is well located near Istanbul's main tourist sites, including the Hagia Sophia mosque. Ylmas and the entire hotel staff are really helpful. They also gave us a little map-based tour of the city and provided us with incredibly helpful suggestions for places to visit.
1- The location is fantastic. The hotel is within walking distance of major attractions like the Hagia Sophia Mosque, the Egyptian Bazaar, the Bosphorus, Galata, and Galata Port—definitely a plus.
2- WiFi was reliable and fast, no complaints here.
The hotel’s location is close to main attractions like Hagia Sophia, blue mosque etc, also to the tram stations and restaurants. Staff were friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Delicious breakfast and good variety of food
I recommend it! Great location, clean and comfortable. It's only a 10-minute walk from Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and just a few minutes from the seaside promenade. There are shops and restaurants in the side streets, and the hotel kitchen is available for your use. Although it's close to tourist attractions, the location is quiet and peaceful, allowing you to relax and get a good night's sleep.
The host is fantastic and available at any time for anything you need.
This is a wonderful hotel within an easy walk of all of the sights in the Sultanahmet like the Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace. We had a room with a view of the Bosporus. The staff spoke excellent English and where very helpful with guidance on sightseeing and getting around. The room was very comfortable. I would stay here again. Great value for the money.
Our stay at Sura Hagia Sophia Hotel has been wonderful, thanks to the incredible team. Daminda, Yousef (Guest Relations), and Abdullah have been exceptionally helpful and kind throughout our visit. Their warm hospitality made us feel at home, and our friends love staying here because of them. The service and care we’ve received have truly enhanced our experience. We’ll definitely be recommending this hotel to others!
The hotel is a 3 minute walk from the Hagia Sophia mosque and all the other major attractions in Istanbul. So, the location is perfect. The hotel staff and owners are great, and willing to help with anything. The value of the hotel was very good. The breakfast was very good and filling as well. I'd easily stay here again if I came to Istanbul.
The location is excellent. 5 mins walk to Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. There are many eateries around the hotel. The staffs are very helpful. The rooms are extremely clean including linens
The location is unbeatable! It's behind Hagia Sophia and Topkapi palace! It's a great place, with the most loveliest staff, warm, helpful and respectful. It is not a five start hotel, but it is great value for your money given the location, I would highly recommend this place. My favorite was the bed, it reminded me of my bed at home, so I got some good night rest after exploring Istanbul.
