The gardens and towering rhododendrons are spectacular. Our room had a lovely lake view. The staff was exceptionally accommodating. Loved the tartan carpets, the view from the dining room, and the great selection of books and magazines in the reading room. Wonderful, sugary home baked shortbread cookies in our room every day.

There a lot of choices for the breakfast well, we had a very filling breakfast. Even the breakfast place had a nice view of the lake! Highly recommended though far from deluxe, very comfortable and supremely convenient location in Bowness near Lake Windermere.
