The Wight House B&B, hotel in Sandown

The Wight House B&B enjoys a location in Ryde, 6.7 miles from Osborne House and 15 miles from Blackgang Chine.

The Wight house B&B is in a great location. We were walking the Isle of Wight coastal path and stayed here for a night. It is up a hill from Ryde Pier. It is a key box check in where you get the code sent to you and then you gain entry from the box outside the door. Our room was clean and airy with the bonus of an outdoor seating area with table and chairs. Breakfast was excellent, host was really welcoming, he sat and had a chat with us before taking our cooked breakfast order which so far has been our favorite breakfast on the Isle of Wight. There was a great selection of cereal, yogurts and fruit + fruit juices to start with and then the choice of a full English after. I would recommend the Wight house and if we come back on the Island would definitely stay again, if we were not walking the island would make this our base for the duration.

The Denewood, hotel in Sandown

In a quiet location just 3 minutes’ walk from the beach, The Denewood is a family-run guest house in Sandown with free parking and Wi-Fi.

Our stay at Denewood Hotel in Sandown was nothing short of delightful. We were fortunate to have a lovely room on the ground floor, which was both cosy and tastefully decorated, making it feel like a home away from home. The attention to detail in the room’s design added a charming and comfortable ambiance that was perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast, which was included in our booking. The hotel offers a great selection from their breakfast menu, catering to various tastes. I was particularly impressed with their flexibility in accommodating special requests. I prefer tinned peeled plum tomatoes over the usual grilled tomatoes, and they were happy to make that change for me. The breakfast itself was hearty and satisfying, setting us up perfectly for the day ahead. Prior to our arrival, Sara was wonderful to communicate with. She was easy to get hold of and happy to answer any questions we had, which made our check-in process smooth and stress-free. Upon arriving at the hotel, both Sara and Kevin were incredibly welcoming, immediately making us feel at home. Kevin, was an absolute pleasure to talk to. He was incredibly friendly and offered us fantastic tips on places to visit around the island, as well as insightful information that enriched our experience. His local knowledge really enhanced our trip, and his warm demeanor made us feel very welcome. Overall, our experience at Denewood Hotel was wonderful. From the cosy, well-decorated room to the delicious and accommodating breakfast, and the exceptional hospitality from Sara and Kevin, it was a stay to remember. I would highly recommend Denewood Hotel to anyone visiting Sandown - I will definitely be back!!

Wicks at 26, hotel in Sandown

Wicks at 26 is located in Sandown, just 1.7 miles from Shanklin Beach and 11 miles from Blackgang Chine.

The accommodation is modern and very comfortable, and it is attached to an attractive Georgian property. It has a lovely shared communal guest garden. We have visited for two years running and very much recommend it. They don't do breakfast so save some money and pop somewhere that does like a cafe or the Premier Inn in Sandown. I love this approach as so many B&B's want to know what you want for the next day and I seriously do not know. I might wish to lay in and skip breakfast for example. There is also a shared communal area to toast bread and a fridge to store food in.
