I moved to another hotel, but it didn't feel as welcoming as Sahari Zanzibar. I decided for the remaining days of my holiday i will enjoy them at Sahari.

The breakfsast and the meals in general were very good.
The rooms were quite nice.
After we came back from our rides the rooms were always cleaned and tidied up with fresh towels and fresh bottles of water.
I was overwhelmed by the friendliness of the staff there, specially the manager Aliya. She was always asking if everything was ok, if we needed something, etc. She helped us to organize all the tours (with very good suggestions and providing the driver).
On our last day, our flight from Zanzibar to Dubai was cancelled due to poor weather conditions in Dubai. So, again, Aliya suggested and helped us to book a flight from Zanzibar to Dar Es Salaam and from there we were able to catch a plane to Dubai the next day.

We stayed at Mustapha’s Place for nine nights with our 1 and 4 year old. The staff were incredible and so friendly. The pool and playground were so fun for our little ones. The food is really great and priced at a good value. I highly recommend this place for families looking to get off the beaten track and want a truly Zanzibar holiday. We will definitely come back!

We loved staying at Makuti Beach Bungalows. The rooms facing the ocean are wonderful. Breakfast was delicious with a large variety of options. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Our kids spent hours in the pool and playing in the sand. And the ocean… what can you say? Beautiful!

The staff were all friendly and helpful! The food was great, and they were able to accommodate any dietary needs. We selected this property in order to cook as we are 4 vegans, and every meal, they had options for us, which we didn't expect. We were so very thankful for being able to accommodate a plant based diet while having other options for the other guests.

Bwejuu is set on a beautiful beach north of Paje. There’s a lot to do in the area (caves, forests , spice farms, Rock restaurant) and lots of bars and restaurants however you’ll need transportation to access them.
We travelled around the entire island in an hire car which I would highly recommend, was great fun and easy to find our way around. I would say this area is more dirty and littered which is a shame as the rest of the country is really well kept.

We were a family of 10 people.
We were a family of 10 people. I did not expect to walk in sand all over the place. The foliage kept it a little cooler. The pool was fine and clean. I did not expect no air conditioning and trying to stay cool with a standing room fan.
Food was Ok - nothing special. The drive from the airport after dark was dangerous. The walk to the beach was short. A few restaurants were open down the beach.
We moved to another resort just down the street after one night and had clean rooms, air conditioning, on the beach, great meals. We kept our keys because they said we could not get a refund for the 2nd and 3rd nights we had reserved. They said we could come back and use the pool but did rent out our rooms from the 2nd & 3rd nights.
It was more like a hostel but was not advertised well on Booking.com

Bwejuu is a small village with two shops where you can buy groceries and cosmetics. There is public transport there. In the vicinity is bigger village of Paje where there are more restaurants and shops.
The beach is absolutely beautiful - white sand, wide a very long (excellent for walks and looking for shells), few people there.
The best restaurants are Shanti café and Sahari.
You can hire kite board there and teacher for kite boarding.
8 km from Bwejuu is beautiful place where you can watch sunset and enjoy big bar with excellent drinks and good music for dancing.

Bwejuu has a great beach.
Bwejuu has a great beach. It is relatively quiet with only a few people working the beach to sell tours etc. We met some friendly locals and joined in some birthday celebrations, which was fun.
Best be aware that there is a big tide so you can’t swim all the time. When the tide is in, the water is shallow and very warm.
In the evenings there is a warm breeze that is refreshing and keeps the mosquitoes away.

Bwejuu area is very disappointing.
Bwejuu area is very disappointing. It has a beach that cannot be enjoyed, far from everywhere, much more expensive than Nungwi and much lower quality. It is a complete mess. I don’t understand why Paje and Bwejuu area are so famous
My wife and I spent 6 days with Pia and Hasim on our honeymoon, and we couldn't have been happier. Location was great, everyone was super nice and the food was good as well.
We particularly appreciated all the small gestures Pia and Hasim made. Hasim took us out on a snorkeling trip free of charge, Pia made mezzeh for us and the hotel has a number of small things like bikes and beach shoes that just make the stay perfect.
We would come here again in a heartbeat and will recommend the hotel to all our friends.
This is a great, boutique resort at the beach.
The advantages include:
- fantastic rooms and common spaces - very spacious, greatly furnished
- excellent, friendly staff
- given the compact size, great privacy and ability to disconnect
- direct access to the beach
- tasty food (albeit the portions are fairly small and selection is limited). Couple of options walking distance from the hotel on the beach plus guests can ask for specials to be prepared
A really nice hotel in Zanzibar in a quiet area, perfect for relaxation. The hotel itself is beautiful, the staff are really nice and friendly. The restaurant at the hotel is surprisingly Greta wihr homemade gnocchi and nice pizza. They have a very long menu, which provides variation for if you want to eat there every day. We really enjoyed ourselves and could leave nice and relaxed. We even tried the massages, which were enjoyable. Can recommend.
I liked the quiet area, away from busy streets and beaches. A lovely sandy garden with chill music, greenery and flowers around. If you want to get rested and feel rejuvenated after staying among palm trees, the ocean, the sand, flowers and good food, this is the right place. I keep coming back to this place. This was my place when I first came to Zanzibar two years ago, and now is my choice whenever I go to the east coast. I just love it.
Rori luxury villa is one of my absolute favourite hotels that i have stayed in. Starting from the location, which is situated right on the beach, to the hospitality of the owners,Riccardo and Romina, is top tier 👌. It's a picturesque villa that has everything you need in it. The breakfast was amazing. And again ,the hospitality was beyong amazing .
Thank you, Riccardo and Romina
The staff - always friendly and helpful. We had nice chats and felt like we're at home :-)
Organization was great (trips, taxis)
The rooms - we loved the jungle style of the hotel and the room. It was also very clean.
Location - at the beach and hidden :)
The food - was sooo delicious!
Hopefully I'm back one day! I wish the crew all the very best.
Beautiful beachfront location in a quiet area. Good food. Relaxed atmosphere. Most of the staff were very helpful, when you could get their attention away from their phones! All staff were friendly and easy to chat to. Small hotel. Not expensive.
The pool is a lifesaver if the tide is out! Small but clean and not crowded.
Tim and Tania were so nice and make us feel like home. It’s really convenient because we have access to the tiki hotel with the beach and the pool just when you cross the street. They have a driver for the airport and all the activities that you want to do.
Thank you for everything! :?
The villas are a brand new and really clean, literally feet in the sand when you arrive. Right on the beach and really well managed by the staff. The food and drink were great quality with lots of options. Dark and Stormy cocktail was our favourite.
Our stay was so relaxing.
We spent a week in Zanzibar in 3 different hotels close in price and this was clearly the best. Everything was excellent from the reception, to the room, the pool and the restaurant directly on the beach and the staff was very kind and smiling all the time.
What a wonderful hotel, with an amazing staff and owner who bent over backwards to make sure it was a honeymoon of a lifetime. Tried another resort but it just didn’t compare and returned to Mayai! Great food, great people, great location.
1) The staff, their friendliness and the overall service at the hotel. The staff always went above and beyond to meet all our requests and were quick and efficient at problem solving as well.
The hotel is located right on the beach, the view is amazing, and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are very cozy and, for a European, seem quite authentic for Africa.
Amazing little cute hotel with great staff and great food! the all day coffee stations had me sold . Yvonne was absolutely amazing and so were the rest of the staff!
