Getting to the hotel is a tad challenging but the views along they way make it so worth it! The hotel reception and check-in was good, the rooms big and comfortable. The one senior looking barman was amazing. He saved the day for us.

We were only passing through and not staying directly in the town. There are some good walks available in the area and also seems popular with cyclist. It is hilly and you need some level of fitness. Beautiful scenery and well worth seeing. We ate at the hotel which was tasty tradition Portuguese food

The only decisions were whether to swim in the pool or the river which was surprisingly warm. We loved watching the river cruise boats go past too! It is a remote and very peaceful location which was exactly what we were looking for. Lovely sandy beach below the house. Awoken to cockerels and sheep bells tinkling! A rural idyll. It feels like someone’s villa, especially when there is only 6 rooms available in total. Everything is brand new. Breakfast was delicious! The people are so friendly and accommodating. Highly recommending to stay! heads-up, the drive to the Quinta is steep, but we had Renault Clio and managed just fine :)
