First timers the place is beautiful, rooms were clean and neat. In general the place needs a bit of facelift, a bit run down.
But we love our stay, the staff are very friendly and hospitable.
The Beach Motel Hervey Bay is situated in tropical gardens directly across from Shelly Beach. The motel offers simple, value accommodation and is a great starting point for Fraser Island.
Oaks Hervey Bay Resort and Spa offers apartment style accommodation opposite the Urangan Beach Pier. Located on the waterfront, it features 2 lagoon pools and a restaurant.

Gorgeous, quiet, oversized retirement town. Plenty of beaches to visit, heaps of shops for tourist shopping, multitude of restaurants and take-away places. Has the necessities for shopping, cinemas, hotels, petrol stations, etc. This place forces you to slow down and smell the salt air!

A lovely flat place, where you can walk or bike ride till your heart is content. We are in our 70's and we bike ride all around doing up to 20k's in a day. Stopping for breakfast or lunch or just at the beach. It has great shopping centres with every shop you need. So many places to eat, all sorts. We enjoy the RSL for an evenings entertainment and a good meal. We use our bikes or car. I cant comment on the public transport. There is always buses on the road though.

A perfect, unspoiled beach location.
A perfect, unspoiled beach location. The beach is safe and perfect for swimming, with sandbars and fishing. There’s a lovely old pier for strolling on.
Nice cafes that are affordable. The people are friendly and relaxed. Great fish and chip shops dotted about, excellent fresh fish.
The Bayswater Bar near the Pier has happy hour cocktails 3-5pm and really good $10 pizzas weekdays 2-4.30pm. It’s the best place to spend an afternoon overlooking the water.
The waterfront has an endless promenade, with picnic facilities dotted along it. Great off leash areas for dogs. Don’t forget to greet the locals as you pass by.

The whole Great Sandy Strait is utterly superb.
The whole Great Sandy Strait is utterly superb. Great restaurants everywhere along the Esplanade. Need to plant lunch well, as disappoint most cafes close by 1.3opm to 2pm...so hard to get a late lunch.

Nice for a short holiday.
Nice for a short holiday. Whale watching is excellent and so is a trip to K'gari. A stroll along the long pier is worth the effort. Beautiful views. The weather is lovely in Autumn but a bit humid in Summer. It is easy to drive around Hervey Bay even when there are a lot of tourist. There are a lot of choices when looking for a place to eat.

We stayed in Hervey Bay for two weeks this time for the first time. Unfortunately we could only get a week in each of two places. We have made the trip to Hervey Bay many times and stayed in different types of accommodations from Motels, a house and now resorts. Have driven from one end to the other many times and I love it all. I Have loved staying at the Mantra the best as it has a lot of conveniences in walking distance and the shopping center is not far, by car, if you want to dine in your unit. We did drive to the other end to the RSL for the special deal meal nights. The staff have been wonderful in all places we have visited.
The rented villa/unit was beautiful and so spacious. Additional living space upstairs. 2 massive bathrooms upstairs and extra toilet downstairs. Secured car park for 1 vehicle. Very clean and modern. Private yard space out the back. Very well priced, beyond value for money. Reception staff very kind, gave some brochures and recommendations for activities and restaurants. Overall an extremely positive stay and would 100% stay again if visiting Hervey Bay in the future, and will recommend to friends and family.
Traveling as a family, we like staying in backpackers because of the communal spaces, the amenities, and the price.
The private room at Hervey Bay Flashpackers was surprisingly spacious for a backpacker! We had plenty of room for our toddler's travel cot.
Nice communal kitchen with a big cold room for everyone's food. Only a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and park.
We would definitely stay there again.
As the name implies, Shelly Bay hotel is just across the road from Shelly Beach, a lovely, north facing beach that is one of the best for swimming in Hervey Bay. Shelly Beach is good for swimming even at low tide. Shops and restaurants are close by. The view from the suite is great. Because the bedroom is at the back, it is quiet. The on-site Indian restaurant has good food at reasonable prices.
Perfect position, close to beach, restaurants, shops, not too far from Hervey Bay Airport. Our Apartment was on the 4th floor facing the Beach. Apartment very spacious, plenty of room for families, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, separate lounge areas, 2 bedrooms Master had private verandah. Tennis court, pool with Spa, this was perfect for us, as a family.
We stayed in the 2 bedroom family apartment which was spotlessly clean and very spacious. Accommodation along the esplanade at Hervey Bay can be very noisy at night due to traffic noise, however the Beachside Motor Inn is well located in a quieter location. Check-in and check-out was very quick, parking within the hotel grounds was easy.
The room was lovely and clean, great view from the patio. The pool was fantastic, very central location and easy to find. Couldn't complain about anything and will be coming back here to stay next time we come to Hervey Bay!
The BWAML offered us a cosy room with two bedrooms, clean beds, and a spotless bathroom. Its prime location on the Esplanade provided beautiful views and easy access to attractions. The staff were helpful,.
Super clean, well equipped, spacious unit. Secure car parking. Walk to restaurants, hotels and coffee shop next door. Excellent walking paths opposite building on the Esplanade. Friendly staff.
