The guy employed by the owners, seems to pretty much manage the whole operation from check-ins/outs to cleaning rooms. He was welcoming, accommodating, friendly and very helpful. He even came from his house 20min away from the motel at 5.30am after I locked my key card in the room, even though he wasn't due to start work until 9am. A very hardworking and admiral man.

Christchurch is a beautiful, clean city that has plenty to offer. The history of the city is very interesting. The botanic gardens are great to explore. Walking through the town is the best way to see the city. There are many restaurants/cafes to explore. The tram is a great way to learn about the Christchurch history but is a little expensive for the 50-minute tour. The gondola is great for families to view the Christchurch region.

Location of motel was close to everywhere so that made it easy to get around. If you are staying in the city, Otautahi is walkable to the sights. If you are happy to explore the city by foot then this will be a delight. Since the rebuild you will be surprised by the little gems that you will discover once you get out of the car .

A once beautiful city that is rising from the ashes of a devastating earthquake but is well on the way to being an exciting and innovative city. Christchurch happily didn't loose it's reputation of being the "garden" city. All the parks and gardens in Christchurch are worth visiting.

Christchurch is a great place to visit, with many attractions, you only need a couple of days there to see most things of interest, the tram was great but the sound system needs improving as its very quiet and the trams is very noisy when moving. Bus service is great.

Comfy bed and great pillows
Small room and no room for two suitcases if 2 travellers are stopping in. We made it work though.
Convenient location. Walking distance to explore Christchurch. Wasn’t too much directly in the hotel area but super close to the cathedral.
There was a restaurant downstairs but we didn’t try it.
Clean, Warm, $50 taxi from the airport, tea and coffee facilities only. Small bar fridge.
Enjoyed our stay here. Accommodate our late check in.
Reception and housekeepers were helpful and friendly.
Everything was excellent location to airport … drop off hire car.. get a trolley.. put suitcases on walk to Novotel Christchurch Airport .. takes just a few minutes.. check in prompt friendly.. take the trolley into the huge room .. they also gave us a seperate lounge ..settle in .. have dinner at the hotel Quick breakfast before early check out walk to check in for aeroplane .. a fabulous place to stay in every way
Very good location. Close to everything we were after and the cafés 2 mins up the road are fantastic. The rugby stadium is one block over, so a great place to stay to watch a match. The CBD, Hagley Park or Riccarton mall are all only a short drive away. New hotel so well maintained. The process for late checkin was good, with great information and maps to find and access your unit.
Hardly find hotels where u can cook your own food inside. Golden hotel has mini kitchen with cooking utensils available for you to cook food inside room. Very neat and tidy.
Easy check in and check out process. Always prefer to stay here whenever I visited christchurch. Near to airport as well.
